Why is it made from a single piece of wood?
Many wood cutting boards are constructed from multiple pieces of wood bonded together with adhesives. We wanted a simpler approach, so each Clean Cutting Board is made from one solid piece of hardwood with no glue or adhesives.
Does The Clean Cutting Board contain any glue or adhesives?
No. Because it’s crafted from a single piece of hardwood, no glue or adhesives are used in its construction.
What is the board finished with?
Just organic MCT oil and raw beeswax. We intentionally chose a simple finish for a surface that comes into direct contact with your food.
Is it finished with mineral oil?
No. Many wood cutting boards are finished with mineral oil, which is petroleum derived. The Clean Cutting Board contains no mineral oil.
Does it contain polyurethane?
No. There is no polyurethane finish on The Clean Cutting Board.
How thick is the board?
Each board is a substantial 1 inch thick, giving it a sturdy feel while still being practical for everyday use.

How should I clean my board?
Hand wash with warm water and a mild dish soap, then dry promptly. Do not soak or put your board in the dishwasher, as prolonged exposure to water and heat can damage natural wood.
How do I care for it?
As the wood begins to look or feel dry, condition it with our Board Butter, made from organic MCT oil and raw beeswax. Regular conditioning helps maintain the wood and keep your board looking beautiful.
Is The Clean Cutting Board FSC® certified?
Not yet. Our hardwood is sustainably sourced, and we are currently working toward FSC® certification as an additional step in our commitment to responsible sourcing. We’ll update our customers as soon as the certification process is complete.
Why did you create The Clean Cutting Board?
We started looking more closely at something we use every day and realized we wanted another option. One without glued together pieces of wood or a petroleum derived mineral oil finish. So we made it ourselves.
