How To Use Dough Dissolve For The Best Results

Bowl

Dough Dissolve was specifically designed to tackle one of the most frustrating parts of baking: sticky dough cleanup.

Unlike traditional dish soap, Dough Dissolve is enzyme powered and formulated to help break down stubborn starch residue from sourdough, bread dough, starter jars, utensils, bowls, drains, banneton liners, and more.

To get the best clean possible, here is exactly how we use it in our own kitchens.

1. Start With Dough Dissolve

Before adding water, apply 2–3 pumps of Dough Dissolve directly onto the sticky area.

2. Add Warm Water

Warm water helps activate the enzyme powered formula and creates the foam needed for a more effective clean.

3. Build The Bubbles

Bubbles matter more than you might think.

The foam helps spread the formula across sticky surfaces so the enzymes can better reach dried dough and starch residue. You may even hear a subtle crackle as the enzymes begin breaking down stubborn starch bonds.

4. Swirl & Agitate

Give everything a quick swirl, shake, or gentle agitation so all surfaces are coated.

This step makes a big difference, especially for bowls, starter jars, banneton liners, and utensils with dried on dough.

5. Let It Soak

Allow Dough Dissolve to sit for about 10 minutes while the enzymes go to work breaking down stubborn residue.

6. Gently Scrub If Needed

Most residue should release much more easily after soaking. For tougher spots, use a soft sponge or gentle scrub brush.

Cleanup should not ruin the ritual.

Happy baking!
